The Role
Smart Design Studio is recruiting for an experienced, proactive and highly collaborative BIM Manager.
This full-time position is responsible for leading and managing Building Information Modelling (BIM) and supporting key digital systems across the practice. Working closely with Directors, Project Architects and project teams, you will establish and maintain BIM standards, workflows and technology platforms that support the delivery of exceptional architecture.
As BIM Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the studio’s digital design environment, ensuring consistency, efficiency and technical excellence throughout all project phases. You will oversee BIM implementation, project setup, model quality control, staff training and digital innovation while also supporting the management of software platforms, digital tools and coordination with our external IT consultants.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on project involvement. You will be responsible for maintaining and evolving our BIM standards, managing project models, supporting project teams, driving continuous improvement and researching emerging BIM, automation and AI-enabled workflows.
You will have proven experience in a BIM leadership role within an architectural practice, excellent communication skills, advanced Revit expertise and a passion for design technology, innovation and project delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain Smart Design Studio’s BIM standards, templates, libraries and workflows.
- Prepare BIM Execution Plans and establish BIM requirements for new projects.
- Set up and manage project models, Autodesk Construction Cloud environments and project information systems.
- Provide BIM leadership, technical support and troubleshooting assistance to project teams.
- Monitor model quality, BIM compliance, version control and project documentation standards.
- Facilitate consultant coordination, model integration and BIM data exchange processes.
- Conduct regular model audits and assist teams in resolving complex modelling and documentation challenges.
- Deliver Revit and BIM training, mentoring and onboarding for staff at all levels.
- Maintain and develop the BIM Manual, SharePoint Hub, digital resources and automation tools.
- Research and implement new BIM technologies, AI workflows and process improvements.
- Manage BIM-related software licensing and liaise with external IT consultants regarding software deployment, updates and hardware requirements.
- Support the continuous improvement of the studio’s digital design, documentation and project delivery capabilities.

Senior Architect

Smart Design Studio is seeking a Senior Architect with minimum 10 years post Masters experience to join our Sydney studio. This is a full-time role. You will be working primarily in one of our Large Projects teams. The successful candidate will have excellent architectural design and documentation skills with experience delivering complex buildings. Experience in contract administration, consultant coordination and engaging with stakeholders such as clients and council are essential.
We are looking for someone who admires the work of Smart Design Studio and excited about contributing their skills to our team. A friendly, positive and hard-working attitude is essential. Fluency in Revit is important. Remuneration will be awarded based on experience.
