Smart Design Studio responded to the developer’s brief for compact living with the concept of ‘high-speed luxury’. Inspired by the sophisticated curves and polished finishes exclusive to high-end sports cars and motor yachts, the interiors reference the finely detailed qualities of bespoke bodywork.
With two variations in the design approach – one nautical and one automotive – the use of full-gloss panelling, matt timber veneers, rounded joinery and chrome trims reinforce this design philosophy.
Expand ContentThe interiors are planned around a central multifunction pod, standing freely within the apartment shell. Shaped to reference the body of a car or boat; the reflective, glossy, panelled pods contain the apartment’s functional components: kitchen, laundry, bathroom, storage, and services. The apartment design embraces compact living through the careful consideration the arrangement of these components, thus elevating apartment living to the highest possible standard.
This design concept is to be repeated throughout the West Tower at Central Park, spearheaded a new design scheme for multi-unit developments, by bringing luxury to apartments of all sizes. Smart Design Studio’s project challenged traditional concepts of apartment living and established a new benchmark for apartments in Sydney.
