This custom-designed outdoor bench answers a functional brief with elegance. Intended to reside permanently outside, the Corda bench needed to be durable, comfortable and not require dismantling and reassembly. Inspired by a rope chair designed by Poul Kjærholm, the design is intentionally low with a sloping back.
Distilled down to its essential elements, without the reliance of bulky cushions or upholstery, the simple sculptural form has a fine profile and woven element that pairs refined detailing with robust materiality.
