Located on a corner site on Oxford Street in Paddington, this mixed use development brings together ground floor retail and 44 apartments, including residential amenities and affordable housing.
The building responds to its setting through a series of stacked, stepped and staggered volumes. A sandstone-clad structure establishes a rhythmic and elegant presence along the Oxford Street retail spine to the south. The sandstone ‘peels’ away to the north, to make way for generous curved balconies, opening up towards expansive views and overlooking a communal garden.
Oxford 160 is the culmination of a rigorous design process by Smart Design Studio and many consultants across varied disciplines. It balances urban, environmental, landscape, community and commercial drivers to achieve design excellence.
